This position ensures a safety-conscious culture and that department employees are familiar with and are following all safety rules and regulations. This position also promotes the Company’s Core Values.     Responsibilities  1. Organizes the offload of incoming trucks in a timely manner 2. Separates and organizes all loads as they are unloaded 3. Sample, process and mark all containers as directed and according to VLS permit and process 4. Immediately segregate oil, water, hazardous materials, and rejects to their designated areas as directed 5. Assist the processing of all materials 6. Properly dispose of all recyclable materials (drums & cardboard) 7. Cut and dispose of all plastic drums & totes 8. Assist with cleanliness of the ground, walls, equipment, tools, and facility 9. Abide by VLS RC policy with breaks, overtime, and days off. Notify your Supervisor of any changes 10. Be mindful as to equipment/building damage 11. Assist with the loading of all needed materials 12. Communicate to all departments any flow stoppage 13. Ensures all areas are neat, clean, and safe  14. Ensures the proper equipment is in the correct trailers 15. Cleans all internal empty trailers Qualifications  1. High School Diploma or GED 2. Preferred Previous forklift experience 3. Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities 4. Proficient problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to think independently Physical Demands    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
