The Role Infrastructure Specialists at Kyndryl are project-based subject matter experts in all things infrastructure – good at providing analysis, documenting and diagraming work for hand-off, offering timely solutions, and generally “figuring it out.” This is a hands-on role where your feel for the interaction between a system and its environment will be invaluable to every one of your clients. Job description - Container & Platform Engineering Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters for enterprise workloads Package, deploy, and manage applications using Helm charts Implement best practices for container lifecycle management, scaling, and resiliency Troubleshoot container, pod, and cluster-level issues Storage & NetApp Integration Integrate NetApp storage solutions with Kubernetes Trident / Astra (stateful workloads) Persistent Volumes (PV), StorageClasses Support NetApp ONTAP‑based storage for container platforms Optimize performance, availability, and data protection for stateful containers CI/CD & Git Pipelines Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications Implement Git‑based pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) Automate build, test, container image scanning, and deployment processes Enable GitOps practices for Kubernetes deployments Automation & Infrastructure as Code Develop automation using scripts and declarative configurations Automate cluster provisioning, application deployment, and upgrades Create reusable templates for Helm charts and pipeline automation Support continuous improvement of automation frameworks Operations & Reliability Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for containers Participate in incident management and root cause analysis Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and application teams Your future at Kyndryl There are lots of opportunities to gain certification and qualifications on the job, and you’ll continuously grow as a Cloud Hyperscaler. Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills Overall 7+ years of experience into IT. Core Containerization Skills Strong experience with Docker (building, running, and managing containers) Writing and optimizing Dockerfiles for efficient image creation Managing container images (tagging, versioning, pushing/pulling from registries like Docker Hub, Harbor, ECR, ACR, GCR) Knowledge of OCI image standards and container lifecycle management Deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture and operations Strong hands‑on experience with NetApp storage for containers Container Orchestration Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) (deployments, services, pods, namespaces, ConfigMaps, secrets, etc.) Familiarity with Kubernetes distributions (OpenShift, EKS, AKS, GKE, Rancher) Experience with Helm charts for application packaging and deployment Scaling and load balancing containers in orchestrated environments Infrastructure & Cloud Deploying containers in cloud platforms (AWS ECS/EKS, Azure AKS, Google GKE) Familiarity with hybrid and multi-cloud container platforms Networking knowledge (CNI plugins, ingress controllers, service mesh like Istio/Linkerd) Persistent storage and volume management in containerized environments DevOps & Automation Building CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Tekton) Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi) for container deployments Automation of container build, scan, and deployment processes Knowledge of GitOps practices Automation & Tooling YAML‑centric configuration and templating Scripting (Shell, Python, or equivalent) Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) Kubernetes CSI and storage lifecycle automation Platform & Tooling Docker or container runtimes Git (branching and pull request workflows) Kubernetes storage concepts (PV, PVC, CSI) Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus Nice‑to‑Have Skills GitOps tools (Argo CD, Flux) NetApp Astra / Trident Terraform or Ansible Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana) Service mesh or API gateway exposure Soft Skills Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Ability to work in fast‑paced, production environments Excellent communication and collaboration skills Automation‑first and problem‑solving mindset Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience Certifications (Preferred) Kubernetes (CKA / CKAD / CKS) NetApp certifications (NCDA or cloud storage exposure) Cloud certifications (Azure/AWS) Being You The “Kyn” in Kyndryl means kinship, which represents the strong bonds we have with each other, our customers and our communities.
