Description

techUK is seeking a creative and technically skilled Content Creator and Copywriter to take the lead on developing multimedia and written content across our digital channels. From social videos and podcasts to blogs, infographics, and web copy, you will play a central role in delivering engaging content that highlights the work of techUK. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, a flair for visual storytelling, and hands-on experience creating digital-first content in multiple formats.

Essential Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in a content, communications, or digital media role producing multimedia and editorial content
  • Hands-on experience creating and editing short videos, images and visual content for online channels, including recording of content
  • Proven ability to write and adapt content for different platforms and audiences
  • Knowledge of content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and basic HTML a plus
  • Understanding of digital engagement metrics and audience behaviour
  • Experience using equipment for both images and video conten

Desired Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience producing podcasts or other audio content
  • Familiarity with tech or public policy sectors
  • Background working in a membership organisation, trade body, agency, or newsroom environmen
Responsibilities

The Content Creator and Copywriter will be responsible for producing high-quality, engaging content across digital formats — including written, visual, audio, and video. Working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager and wider teams, they will create content that supports techUK’s campaigns, member engagement, and brand storytelling. This role is ideal for someone with strong multimedia and editorial skills who is passionate about bringing techUK’s work to life across platforms. This role reports into the Head of Brand and Campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Multimedia Creation: Plan, create, and edit multimedia content including short-form videos, graphics, and podcasts for use across digital platforms
  • Content Writing: Draft and edit clear, engaging written content including blogs, web page content, social posts, internal reports, and newsletters to improve our brand authority
  • Copywriting: Write compelling and targeted copy for a range of formats including email campaigns, promotional materials, and member-facing communications, to drive sales conversions and retention
  • Digital Storytelling: Combine text, visuals, and audio creatively to tell the story of techUK’s work, its values, campaigns, and thought leadership
  • Editorial Support: Assist with proofreading, formatting, and quality control of content created across the organisation, including programme and event outputs
  • SEO & Web Publishing: Optimise content for search engines and user experience, and publish content to the website via CMS
  • Social Media Content: Create visual and written content tailored to techUK’s social media platforms to increase reach and engagement
  • Collaboration: Work closely with programmes, events, and marketing teams to plan and produce content that supports flagship content launches, member communications, and strategic partnerships
  • Content Planning: Contribute to the editorial calendar to ensure timely delivery of relevant and high-quality multimedia and written content
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all content aligns with techUK’s brand voice, tone, and visual identity

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Core Competencies

  • Strong skills in creating and editing multimedia content (e.g., short videos, graphics, podcasts)
  • Excellent writing, copy-editing, and proofreading abilities
  • Creative mindset with the ability to translate complex topics into accessible, engaging content
  • Familiarity with multimedia tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, podcast editing platforms, or video editors (e.g., Premiere Pro, iMovie, DaVinci Resolve)
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and digital publishing best practices
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple content projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage internal and external stakeholders for interviews etc.

Additional Information
This is a full time role based out of techUK’s London offices, however, we are open to considering flexible working arrangements.
This role profile is a guide to the work that is required but does not form part of any contract of employment and may change from time to time to reflect changing circumstances.
The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK prior to the commencement of employment.
The salary range for this role is £30,000-£37,000 per annum based upon experience plus discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.
