As the content marketing manager, you’ll be the engine behind OfferZen’s content creating the stories, campaigns, and assets that help us attract and engage our community of CTOs, founders, and software engineers. You won’t just ship content, you’ll own the strategy and storytelling that make OfferZen stand out in a noisy market. This role is perfect for someone who’s both a systems thinker and a storyteller. You see content as a product: something to design, optimise, and scale so it consistently delivers value. You love building the processes, templates, and workflows that keep a content engine running smoothly, but you also care deeply about making every piece feel distinct and memorable. In a world where content is cheap and abundant, you know that a unique point of view, great storytelling, and data that can’t be found anywhere else cut through the noise. You thrive on taking big ideas and turning them into actionable content that resonate with tech leaders and professionals and you get just as excited about tweaking a newsletter subject line or building a GPT as you do about zooming out to craft an ownable point of view. Role outcomes Audience connection and engagement: Our ideal customers (CTOs, founders, software engineers) see OfferZen as a trusted, memorable voice in their world and consistently engage with content programs. Pipeline impact: Content programs drive traffic, engagement, and qualified leads to support go-to-market campaigns. Campaign enablement: Sales and performance marketing have a steady supply of proof points, case studies, and campaign assets that convert Content system scalability: Content workflows, templates, and tools run smoothly, enabling scalable, quality output. Narrative distinctiveness and strength: Content programs reinforce OfferZen’s positioning, telling compelling stories that stand out in a crowded market. Key responsibilities Content strategy and narrative Define and maintain a content strategy that aligns with company priorities, marketing strategy, and tech community needs. Identify the tone of voice and themes, narratives, and formats that differentiate OfferZen and make us memorable in the market. The weirder and wackier, the better. Translate survey data, community insights, and research into compelling storylines. Content creation and distribution Write and create newsletters, blogs, social posts, case studies, and campaign assets. Repurpose event and community survey insights into short- and long-form content. Maintain a consistent content calendar that supports product launches. Collaborate design for campaign creatives and performance/growth for creative delivery on ads, webpages, emails. Content ops and systems Improve and document content workflows (newsletters, socials, briefings). Use AI tools and automation to build systems scale output (drafting, repurposing, distribution) without losing distinctiveness or quality. Project manage content deliverables for campaigns and initiatives. Social media and community engagement Manage and produce OfferZen’s organic social calendar (copywriting, scheduling, reporting). Engage with the community on social channels to amplify content reach. Post pre-, during-, and post-event content for events and other activations. Measurement and optimisation Track performance across newsletters, social, and campaign assets. Test subject lines, copy, and formats to improve engagement. Share insights with growth, sales, and PMM to inform future campaigns. What we’re looking for 3-5 years’ experience in content marketing or B2B marketing (SaaS, tech, or startups ideal). Agency experience welcomed. Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills; proven ability to craft memorable narratives and engaging copy. You have excellent taste. Experience writing and managing newsletters, content products like reports, and social channels end-to-end. Experienced in social management and using social media management platforms eg. Hootsuite, Buffer or Sprout Social. Comfortable writing short-form campaign collateral across channels (ads, emails, landing pages). Skilled at building or improving content workflows, templates, and processes. You comfortably use AI as a tool to build and scale systems. Data-driven mindset; comfortable using basic analytics to inform decisions. Strong project management skills. Able to work independently and manage multiple content programs. Strong collaborator; works well with design, growth, performance marketing, product marketing, and sales. Bonus: experience with marketing automation tools like Zapier, SEO, or basic design/AI content tools. Operating model Location: Remote within South Africa but preferably based in or close to Cape Town so you can join occasional events. Reports to: Directly to Head of Marketing.
