CONTENT MARKETING MANAGER

Pro Athlete’s Definition:
The Content Marketing Manager will lead the planning, production, and optimization of content across our brands JustBats, JustGloves, and JustPaddles, with a primary focus on video-first storytelling for social media. This role directs creative execution for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other emerging platforms, ensuring brand consistency, engagement, and measurable growth across our digital marketing channels. This isn’t just a content creation role. You’ll be the strategic architect of how we position our brands, compete against established players, and build authentic authority in the sporting goods space.
You’ll own the complete brand content strategy across three specialized brands, from high-level competitive positioning down to daily execution. You will be our internal voice of authority on all things content.
The Content Marketing Manager will work closely with marketing, design, product, photography, and merchandising teams to create content that inspires athletes, educates parents, and differentiates our brands from larger competitors.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years in content marketing, with 3+ years in social media video production
  • Strong editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar
  • Familiarity with TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts best practices
  • Experience in eCommerce, retail, or the sports industry is a plus
  • Proven track record developing comprehensive brand content strategies that drive business results
  • Strategic brand thinking skills with the ability to connect content tactics to brand objectives
  • Data-driven brand strategy development with experience building measurement frameworks
  • Multi-brand strategy experience managing distinct but related brand voices
  • Strong writing and content creation skills that reinforce brand positionin

  • Sports industry experience (any sport - passion matters more than specific knowledge)

Responsibilities

Strategic Brand Positioning & Competitive Strategy (40%)

  • Develop comprehensive brand content strategies across three distinct sports brands
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and identify brand positioning opportunities against other players in the space
  • Create strategic brand positioning frameworks that differentiate us from big-box competitors
  • Design customer journey brand experiences for both parent and athlete audiences
  • Establish brand authority positioning that leverages our expertise advantage
  • Build quarterly and annual brand content roadmaps aligned with business objectives

Brand Content Strategy Execution (35%)

  • Execute strategic brand content calendars based on your strategic framework
  • Develop and maintain brand voice consistency across all three brands
  • Coordinate product launch campaigns with strategic brand storytelling approaches
  • Own the creation of short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms.
  • Manage the end-to-end video workflow: concept, scripting, filming, editing, publishing, and optimization
  • Produce a variety of content types - from product demos and tutorials to athlete interviews and behind-the-scenes stories
  • Stay ahead of platform trends and adapt them for our sports brands
  • Partner with internal and external designers, photographers, and copywriters to bring creative campaigns to life
  • Lead creative brief development for video campaigns and ensure smooth execution

Performance Strategy & Optimization (15%)

  • Develop content performance frameworks and KPI measurement systems
  • Conduct competitive analysis to inform strategic content decisions
  • Create content attribution models to prove ROI and business impact
  • Design A/B testing strategies for content optimization
  • Report strategic recommendations to leadership based on performance data

Community & Authority Building Strategy (10%)

  • Develop community engagement strategies that build brand authority
  • Create customer advocacy programs that leverage authentic testimonials
  • Design expert positioning content that establishes thought leadership
  • Build strategic partnerships with coaches, teams, and parent communities
