Description
The Content Manager will lead the day-to-day operations of MRI Software's global content team, overseeing the delivery of thought leadership and product/solution content across all channels and formats. This role is responsible for managing a team of Thought Leadership Content Writers, a Thought Leadership Team Lead, and Technical Content Writers, ensuring the team delivers high-quality content consistently, on time, and in alignment with strategic priorities. The Content Manager will own the content queue, manage intake and prioritisation, and act as the primary project manager for content delivery across the function. Working closely with the Director of Thought Leadership & Market Positioning, Product Marketing, PR, and Campaign teams, this role will serve as the operational hub of the content function, translating strategic direction into a well-organised, efficiently executed content programme. Success in this role will be measured by the quality and consistency of content output, team performance and development, on-time delivery rates, and the effectiveness of content operations in supporting broader marketing and business objectives. Key Responsibilities Manage & Mentor: Lead a high-performing team of Thought Leadership and Technical Content Writers, providing coaching, performance reviews, and professional development. Culture & Growth: Foster a collaborative team culture focused on quality and accountability; oversee hiring and onboarding as the function scales. Operational Structure: Define roles and establish best-in-class working practices to ensure consistency across distinct content workstreams. Queue Management: Act as the central point of intake for all business content requests, assessing strategic importance and team capacity. Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain a global content calendar aligned with campaigns, product launches, and evergreen initiatives. Capacity Planning: Proactively manage workloads, identify resource gaps, and communicate delivery timelines to stakeholders. End-to-End Delivery: Own timelines and milestones for all content projects, ensuring clear briefs and quality checkpoints are in place. Workflow Optimisation: Design and implement tools and processes (templates, tracking, automation) to eliminate production bottlenecks. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Manage dependencies with Design, Digital, PR, and Campaign teams to ensure seamless execution. Primary Liaison: Serve as the operational lead for Product Marketing, PR, and Regional teams to manage expectations and align on priorities. Strategic Translation: Turn high-level market positioning strategies into actionable, executable content plans. Reporting & Insights: Track operational KPIs (volume, timeliness, quality) and partner with Demand Gen to measure content impact on business objectives. Brand Stewardship: Maintain a high bar for editorial excellence, ensuring all output aligns with brand voice, tone, and messaging frameworks. Content Governance: Develop and maintain style guides and messaging references to empower writers and ensure consistency. Requirements Proven Track Record: 6–10 years in content, editorial, or marketing, with 2–3+ years in a leadership or management role. Team Management: Experience leading diverse teams of writers across editorial and product marketing disciplines. Operations & Logistics: Strong background in content project management, capacity planning, and managing a global intake queue. Sector Knowledge: Solid understanding of the B2B content lifecycle; experience in B2B SaaS or Enterprise Software is strongly preferred. Tech Stack: Proficient with CMS, project management tools, and editorial workflow platforms. People Leadership: Skilled in managing junior and mid-level talent, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Strategic Execution: Ability to translate high-level strategy into day-to-day execution within a global, matrixed organization. Stakeholder Mastery: Confident in managing competing demands, making tough prioritization calls, and influencing cross-functional partners. Data-Informed: A metrics-driven approach to tracking pipeline health, team performance, and content effectiveness. Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to maintain clarity across multiple complex workstreams and geographies.
