QUALIFICATIONS:

• Fluency in English is essential
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
• Minimum of 3-4 year of experience in a writing role, preferably in print journalism
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Strong research and fact-checking abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of ofw culture and current affairs is a plus
• Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to write clear, concise, and compelling content
• Knowledge of Dubai’s local community and cultural context is a plus
• Passion for storytelling, news reporting, and delivering impactful journalism

• Research, conduct interviews, and fact-check information to maintain accuracy in reporting
• To lead the editorial team , collaborate with editors and brainstorm ideas, develop story angles
• Stay up-to-date with current events, trends, and developments to identify newsworthy stories and opportunities for coverage
• Provide feedback and guidance to junior writers to help them improve their writing, research, and presenting skills.
• Assist with other editorial tasks and projects as needed to support the publication’s objectives
• Maintain awareness of current events and trending topics in the UAE, the Philippines and globally
• Adhere to deadlines and editorial policies while delivering high standard of work
• Brainstorm and develop innovative content strategies with the team
• Develop anchoring and presenting skills to deliver news segments for multimedia platforms, including video and live broadcasts
