Description Meyer Distributing is looking for an Environmental & Hazardous Materials Specialist to join our Jasper, IN team! The Environmental & Hazardous Materials Specialist is responsible for environmental compliance, hazardous materials management, workplace safety, and continuous improvement across warehouses, transportation, and distribution operations. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations, manages environmental risks, and partners with operational teams to maintain safe, efficient, and compliant processes. QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Previous warehouse experience and ability to operate a forklift or man lift preferred. Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST In-Person Office Position Environmental & Hazardous Materials Specialist duties include, but are not limited to: Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, DOT, RCRA, EPCRA, and other applicable regulations. Manage hazardous materials, chemical inventories, SDS programs, waste disposal, environmental reporting, and regulatory documentation. Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations; implement corrective actions. Support emergency response planning, spill prevention, and environmental preparedness. Lead process improvement initiatives that enhance safety, compliance, and operational effectiveness. Develop and deliver training related to hazardous materials, environmental compliance, and safe work practices. Partner with cross-functional teams and support regulatory inspections and audits.
