Description The primary responsibility of this position will be to support manufacturing, maintenance, and quality, complete capital and facility projects and monitor/maintain processes. The goal will be to keep the extrusion lines running continuously and efficiently while producing a product that meets or exceeds our customers’ expectations. Designing, planning and implementing improvements to all aspects of the production processes to continually improve the efficiency of each department. Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Comply with Modern-Mill Safety Policies and Procedures Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility Set and Start-up the lab extruder for trials Manage projects both capital and facility Manage budgets and complete timelines Write reports, create graphs, and complete presentations in front of Senior Staff Understand chemical formulations Work unsupervised or with a team environment Examine product for defects and correct them. Measure the product to ensure it is within Modern-Mill Specs. Notify Management/Supervisor/Quality of any quality or equipment issues. Can use software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 1 year of manufacturing experience Knowledge of extrusion processes Mechanical aptitude Willingness to work long hours EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Degree Preferred 5+ years’ experience in similar role without degree is acceptable Lean Six Sigma or Six Sigma preferred ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Prolong standing or in stationary position Complete repetitive movements such as typing Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable Complete repetitive movements Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and safety shoe protection) Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds Ability to move or traverse about the facilities Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
