  • Bachelor or equivalent in Engineering / Science (mechatronics, software, biomedical engineering, mechanical, electrical…)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an engineering or scientific role
  • Experience in systems engineering for product or process development
  • Experience in a regulated sector (e.g. medical, aerospace, etc.)
  • Experience in data analysis
Responsibilities

MAIN LOCATION OF THIS ROLE WILL BE IN VENRAY OR ROERMOND.

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will play a key role in driving and supporting continuous improvement efforts to enhance operational efficiency, optimize processes, and improve overall performance. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze and evaluate existing workflows, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, reduce costs, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for developing innovative logistics to support the processes, operations, logistics flows, facilities and infrastructure systems, as well as monitoring, maintaining and improving existing processes to ensure consistent, high-quality customer experience and operational results.

LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process Analysis and Evaluation: Analyze and evaluate existing distribution center processes, workflows, and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement. Conduct time studies, data analysis, and process mapping to gain insights into current performance and areas for enhancement.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, inventory accuracy, order accuracy, and cycle time. Develop reports and visualizations to communicate findings and identify trends and patterns.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Lead or support continuous improvement projects and initiatives within the distribution center. Apply methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen to streamline processes, eliminate waste, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Lead and support projects which results in costs improvements and or sustainability improvements where our internal as well as external customers will benefit from upon.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Perform root cause analysis to identify underlying causes of process inefficiencies, errors, or bottlenecks. Collaborate with teams to develop and implement effective solutions that address the root causes and drive sustainable improvement.
  • Technology and Automation: Collaborate with IT and operations teams to identify opportunities for leveraging technology, automation, and system enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy in distribution center operations.
  • Performance Monitoring and Metrics: Establish performance metrics and targets aligned with distribution center goals. Monitor and track performance, provide regular reports, and communicate progress, achievements, and areas requiring attention to management and stakeholders.
  • Change Management: Support change management efforts by assisting in the development and implementation of change plans. Engage stakeholders, address concerns, and facilitate the adoption of new processes and practices.
  • Understand and promote quality policy, carry out activities in compliance with the quality system.
  • Communicate regularly with peers and supervisors on the status of activities, problems and obstacles.
  • Acquire data and interpret it through statistical analysis; collaborate with internal cross-functional stakeholders to review data, establish and monitor process efficiency, and provide recommendations on operational process improvement opportunities.
