Description

We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist to support operational excellence in our automotive manufacturing facility. This role will focus on identifying, planning, and implementing process improvements that enhance quality, reduce waste, increase efficiency, and drive cost savings. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver with a solid foundation in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automotive industry standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a continuous improvement or lean manufacturing role, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (Black Belt preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Lean tools: 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Standard Work, PDCA, etc.
  • Excellent project management and facilitation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Minitab, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to influence and drive change at all levels.
  • Hands-on and collaborative approach with a passion for improvement and efficiency.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Automotive or Tier 1/Tier 2 supplier experience.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949, APQP, FMEA, and other automotive quality standards.
  • ERP/MES system knowledge (e.g., SAP, Plex, Oracle).
Responsibilities
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across the plant using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Identify inefficiencies or quality concerns through data analysis, plant observations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events, root cause analyses, and problem-solving workshops.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of improvement projects.
  • Partner with production, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
  • Support the implementation of 5S, standard work, visual management, and other lean tools.
  • Conduct training sessions to build a continuous improvement culture throughout the organization.
  • Document processes, improvements, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and other applicable automotive manufacturing standards.
  • Support cost-reduction, productivity, and safety initiatives.
