Due to continued success and growth, Sarens (Australia) Pty Ltd has an exciting new opportunity within our management team, to join and lead our busy Technical Solutions Depot based in our Hendra Office, Queensland. This position will travel within Australia as required also occasional international travel. Sarens Australia is a regional business unit within the Sarens Group with headquarters in Belgium. We are strategically focused on crane rental as well as with special projects in mining, oil & gas, wind energy and construction works for heavy lift and specialised transport with lattice boom, mobile cranes and self propelled modular trailers. The ideal applicants will be career and client focused, with a proven skillset within the Heavy Lift and Transport Industry. You must have a particular focus on engineered solutions in regard to alternative lifting operations and modular trailer applications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive knowledge of the Heavy Lift and Transport industry is essential;
  • Experience of engineered solutions, specifically in relation to strand jacks, gantries, SPMT’s and jacking and sliding operations; and
  • Engineering degree or extensive relevant experience.

SKILLS AND PERSONALITY

  • Determination to develop and grow what is seen to be a core depot within the region;
  • Drive and ambition to achieve profitable growth including efficiencies by reducing costs and project over runs and increasing profit margins;
  • Motivated, client focused, experienced manager with proven leadership skills;
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in an operational or engineering lead role;
  • Open communications style both internally as well as with other stakeholders such as customers;
  • Financial reporting experience, including revenue forecast, P & L control is desirable; and
  • Conversant with commonly used software packages and ERP systems.
Responsibilities
  • Management of all aspects of our Technical Solutions projects – plan, organise, direct, control and co-ordinate to completion;
  • Liaise with management team on outcomes including P&L, budgeting, invoicing, and general administration;
  • Develop and expand the engineering capabilities of the Technical Solutions team;
  • Support, lead and mentor a team of skilled people, key to lead by example;
  • Support and align with other internal departmental managers;
  • Ensure all SHEQ requirements are met through compliance and commitment; and
  • Pre and post sales support with clients.
