Description:
WSP is currently seeking a Contract Administrators to join our Transportation team in the GTA . You will work as part of a dynamic, energetic project team to support the oversight of construction contracts, primarily working out of a dedicated project site office.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and administer a complex municipal or highway capital construction project;
- Liaise with the contractor, client, design team, utility companies, government agencies and other project stakeholders, to ensure the overall success of the project;
- Maintain responsibility of contract administration deliverables, and ensure that they are delivered in a prompt and accurate manner, meeting and exceeding client expectations;
- Negotiate various contractual matters including price agreements, change orders and claims;
- Provide leadership, mentorship and direction to the project team, ensuring that they have the necessary guidance and feedback to effectively deliver their role;
What you’ll bring to WSP :
- OACETT ‘rcca’ and CET / C. Tech designation (or ability to obtain designation upon hire).
- Professional Engineers Ontario designation as a P. Eng (Considered an asset).
- Minimum 5-15 years’ experience in Civil Engineering Infrastructure, with a substantial focus on Highway/Roads and Bridge construction.
- Minimum 2 projects’ experience as a Contract Administrator on MTO, Regional or Municipal contracts with construction value greater than $10 million.
- Proven aptitude for estimating construction schedule, quantities, and costs.
- Experience with progress payments, change orders, leading site meetings, preparation of minutes, and providing guidance to field staff in relation to contracts.
- Good knowledge of construction best practices, including equipment, materials, and quality assurance techniques.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, associates, and clients.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills are a must.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and work in fast paced, high change environment.
- Good initiative and attention to detail.
- Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
- A valid Ontario’s driver license with an acceptable driving record.
