Description
Location: Remote Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: 9 am to 5:30 pm Pacific Timezone.  Salary: $20-$24/hour, depending on experience. POSITION OVERVIEW Burnett Therapeutic Services (BTS) is seeking an experienced Contract Compliance & Partnerships Specialist with a strong background in billing, insurance contracting,  compliance and/or ABA Administrative experience. This role is critical to ensuring that new payer contracts are implemented correctly and efficiently—reviewing requirements, setting up billing structures, and ensuring all compliance standards are met before services begin. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, understands the nuances of ABA staffing models and CPT code billing, and can “dig in” to contracts to identify requirements that affect clinical, intake, and authorization workflows. In addition to compliance, this role will also support community partnerships by building relationships with physician offices and clinics to grow our referral network under newly executed contracts. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES CONTRACT COMPLIANCE & BILLING READINESS * Review new contracts for: * Staffing models (BI vs RBT; 2-level vs 3-level supervision structures). * Telehealth allowances and out-of-state BCBA approval. * Billing requirements, CPT codes, and modifiers. * Reimbursable ICD-10 codes. * Audit and compliance standards. * Collaborate with leadership and billing to ensure contracts are executable. * Partner with clinical leaders to determine who creates assessment/progress report templates. * Coordinate with intake and authorizations teams to align on eligibility verification and workflows. * Document compliance requirements clearly and provide training or guidance to relevant staff. Community Outreach & Partnerships * Build relationships with physician offices, clinics, and community organizations. * Promote BTS’s ABA and mental health services to generate referrals under active contracts. * Represent BTS at local outreach visits and community events. * Maintain organized records of outreach and follow-up activity. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR * Hands-on experience in ABA billing and insurance contracting — able to interpret payer agreements, CPT codes, modifiers, and reimbursement structures. * Knowledge of compliance and audit requirements within behavioral health, including ICD-10 diagnosis coverage and payer documentation standards. * Ability to review contracts and determine: * Required staffing levels (BI, RBT, Supervisor, BCBA). * Whether telehealth and out-of-state BCBAs are permitted. * Billing rules across 2-level vs 3-level ABA service models. * Strong background in navigating insurance funder requirements, including authorizations, eligibility verification, and clinical documentation alignment. * Experience collaborating with intake, authorizations, billing, and clinical leadership to operationalize contracts. * Comfortable “digging in” to complex payer requirements and translating them into clear, actionable processes for internal teams. * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to also serve as a professional representative of BTS with doctors, clinics, and community partners. Highly organized, detail-driven, and proactive in following through on contract launches and compliance tasks. Requirements * High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred. Reliable internet and remote work setup. * Ability to work 9 AM – 5:30 PM PST with some flexibility. * Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally for outreach visits around the areas we serve. Work schedule: * 9 am to 5:30 pm PST; however, during heavy work times, staff may be asked to work during after-hours. The candidate must be able to work in the Pacific time zone.  Why Choose BTS? At BTS, you’ll find a long-term career with mentorship, training, and growth opportunities. We collaborate with compassion and respect individuality, fostering an environment where everyone can thrive and grow. Pay & Benefits.  * Shadowing opportunities and hands-on mentorship to build confidence * Supervision hours and internship support for those pursuing BCBA, LMFT, or LCSW credentials * Medical, dental, and vision insurance (for employees working 30+ hrs/week) * 401(k) retirement plan, for those who have accrued 1000 hours of service within 12 months. * Aflac supplemental insurance options  (for employees working 30+ hrs/week) * LifeCare Employee Assistance Program: includes free confidential counseling, referrals, and wellness resources * LifeMart Employee Discount Program: exclusive savings on everyday purchases and services ABOUT US BTS is a leader in Behavioral and Mental Health care and a pillar in the communities we serve. We are a privately owned agency based in Napa, CA.
