Department Overview
Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E’s electric distribution and transmission operations and maintenance, as well as Power Generation operations. The Team manages over 100,000 circuit miles of electric distribution lines and over 18,000 circuit miles of interconnected transmission lines, and operates and maintains PG&E’s hydroelectric, fossil, solar generation and battery storage facilities, providing approximately 5,300 megawatts of generating capacity for customers. Electric Operations is comprised of approximately 6,500 coworkers.
Position Summary
The Supervisor, Contract Construction manages all aspects of the internal & external contract crew Inspectors. This includes scheduling, matching skill sets to projects, time reporting review and oversight, vehicles, technology and training. The Supervisor will be expected to stand on call in a rotation with his/her peers and responds to routine and major emergency events. The Supervisor provides leadership guidance and oversight consistent with the California Redbook and PG&E safe work practices and procedures.
Oversight is also provided to ensure compliance with PG&E Construction standards and California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) General Orders 95, 128 & 165. Analysis will be expected to prioritize all work to determine the safest, most efficient completion strategy. The Supervisor will also implement new safety policies and best practices as well as manage employee’s accountability and ensure full compliance with the Injury & Illness Prevention Programs.
