CONTRACT FIELD &/OR FACILITY OIL/GAS WELL OPERATOR

The Operator will be responsible to maintain the field to high Health Safety & Environment standards; monitor and test oil/gas wells as per Archer/Regulatory guidelines and optimize the production rates. The Operator may be required to operate any combination of oil and gas wells or battery/gas compression facilities.
This is not a camp position, and candidates must currently reside in or close to Grande Prairie, or willing to be in Grande Prairie for the duration of their rotation.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring Archer maintains regulatory compliance including but not limited to pigging, testing, pipeline chemical inhibition, odours, facility inspections and reporting
  • Operate and maintain both sweet & sour oil wells safely and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Operating of inlet separation, compression, dehydration, oil & water storage, associated pumps, power generation equipment, Pumpjacks & ESP’s
  • Start up or shut down of oil wells, facilities and equipment, monitor and adjust equipment to ensure optimal production levels.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to increase production through optimization of oil wells, gathering systems and facilities
  • Monitor well performance, fluid levels, production equipment (speed/efficiency etc.)
  • Demonstrate complete working knowledge of all facilities
  • Make quick and accurate assessments by taking corrective actions to safely control and minimize losses
  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of production equipment.
  • Daily production accounting / record production data and report any issues or abnormalities.
  • Ensure daily/weekly/monthly reports & inspections are accurately completed and archived
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and take corrective action as required.
  • Work closely with field teams to support overall production goals.
  • Remain on-call to provide after-hours coverage for facilities or wells, as needed
  • Working towards completing and implementing site specific procedures for area of responsibility
  • Learn, understand and adhere to Archer’s safety and loss control programs including our Safety Manual, ERP, PLIMP, PEIM, CMDS, etc.
