CONTRACT HMGP CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR:

On behalf of our Oil & Gas client, Procom is searching for a Contract HMGP Control Room Operator for a contract role. This position is an onsite position at our client’s Saskatoon, Saskatchewan office.

CONTRACT HMGP CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Contract HMGP Control Room Operator will be responsible for using a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (SCADA) and a Leak Detection system to control and monitor the Alberta and Saskatchewan Gathering system and two terminal facilities. This role involves working in a 24/7 operation with rotating shifts, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of pipeline facilities.

CONTRACT HMGP CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Ability to remotely control and operate pipeline facilities using SCADA and Leak Detection systems
  • Strong communication skills, clear speech, good hearing, and a professional telephone manner
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SAP
  • Possession of at least one certification: Gas Process Operator, Production Field Operator, 4th Class Power Engineering, or Journeyman tradesperson

CONTRACT HMGP CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Experience with emergency response procedures
  • Experience working in a 24/7 shift environment
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas sector
  • Familiarity with COBRA testing
  • Strong problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
  • Remotely control and operate pipeline facilities using SCADA and Leak Detection systems
  • Follow the Superintendents Expectations for Control Room Operations
  • Collaborate with the midstream team, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and SCADA Technicians
  • Maintain strong communication skills and professional telephone manner
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Prioritize situations and tasks effectively
  • Solve problems and make informed decisions under pressure
  • Maintain and organize written documents and records
  • Follow set procedures and deal with emergency/abnormal conditions
  • Work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
