The Contracts Manager is a member of an international team responsible for managing all aspects of the contract process including drafting, negotiation and execution of contracts relating to Research and Development projects

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (or high school diploma/GED) Legal qualifications
  • Some experience within a contract environment.
  • Preferably experience of working in a GxP environment
  • Strong written and oral English communication skills
  • Ability to interface with and internal and external customers, responding in a professional manner
Responsibilities
  • Accountable for managing a portfolio of contracts covering clinical and pre-clinical research and Investigator Sponsored Studies activities globally. Accountable for drafting, negotiating, and executing these contracts.
  • Work with External Service Providers (CROs) in agreeing contract templates and negotiation parameters and being the point of contact for issues outside these agreed parameters.
  • Work closely with Legal Counsel, IP Counsel, Data Privacy Counsel, QA and Transparency Reporting team to ensure all contracts are consistent with legislation and are in compliance with Good Clinical Practice, Standard Operating Procedures, and Corporate Policies, Guidelines and Standards.
  • Monitor negotiation progress and manage issue escalation and resolution ensuring internal stakeholders, including the contract requestor, external partners, legal, finance, are informed.
  • Communicate contracting timelines and critical issues to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Assist with simplification of the contracting process through development of standardized language; relationship management with external contract managers and licensing officers; and effective communication with matrix partners.
