We’re a housing association…that’s the obvious way to label us and of course you’re not wrong. But you might also think of us as a commercially successful, £232million turnover property business with 29% operating surplus, a portfolio of over 35,000 homes worth c.£4billion, with a real focus on and dedication to providing quality services to the people living in them. If you see us as the latter, read on…
Our Contract Manager (Retrofit) is a role with real purpose. You’ll play a central part in delivering energy efficiency upgrades that make our homes greener, more sustainable, and more comfortable – all while ensuring that our tenants are informed, engaged, and supported every step of the way.
Make a difference – Your work will directly contribute to reducing carbon emissions and fuel poverty.
Own the process – From pre-contract planning to site inspections and reporting, you’ll drive retrofit delivery from the ground up.
Work with people – Build trusted relationships with tenants, contractors, and colleagues to ensure smooth, customer-focused projects.
Keep learning – Whether you’re a qualified Retrofit Assessor or working toward it, you’ll be part of a team that values knowledge-sharing and innovation.
Shape the future – Bring your technical and contract management skills to a programme that’s vital to our long-term sustainability strategy.
What’s the role? Responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
Leading and managing a high-performing team of Surveyors.
Conducting property inspections and collecting detailed data to assess retrofit needs.
Identifying appropriate energy-saving measures and working with our contractors to deliver them in line with PAS 2035.
Monitoring contractor performance, managing budgets, and producing reports that keep our retrofit strategy on track.
Engaging and communicating with tenants to explain upcoming works, manage expectations, and ensure smooth delivery.
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, CDM, and retrofit legislation.
Working closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver a programme that meets energy efficiency and tenant satisfaction goals.
