Overview:
The Overnight Shift Supervisor will be responsible for direct implementation of the Covenant House’s philosophy, mission statement and policies as they pertain to residential care.
We are currently hiring for 1 Contract Overnight Shift Supervisor. This is a replacement role within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Direct supervision and evaluation of 6-7 full-time youth workers and 3-4 per diem workers;
• Responsible for the direct management of the nightly shift and the supervision of the youth workers scheduled on that shift
• Formal supervision and performance appraisals of all supervisees;
• Chairing monthly team meetings;
• Coordinating and monitoring training of new team members;
• Overseeing the safety, security, contents and any emergency situations within the entire building on overnights;
• Ensuring any threats to the safety of our youth are properly managed by staff;
• Conducting interviews of potential employees, evaluating them on observation shifts and participating in the selection process;
• Ensuring that staff adhere to Covenant House’s policies and procedures;
• Managing and monitoring team’s work concerning intakes, assessments, discharges and case summaries;
• Ensuring case management issues are appropriately addressed;
• Overseeing youth intakes and referrals to the residential program;
• Making recommendations for appropriate case action plans;
• Managing petty cash float, tokens and cab vouchers.

Qualifications:

• College/university degree or diploma in child and youth work or equivalent
• Minimum four years’ working experience with adolescents in a residential setting, three of which should be in a supervisory role.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Knowledge of adolescent developmental theory; leadership skills; knowledge of community resources; basic computer skills; and UMAB or other training in working with aggressive behavior.
