JOB SUMMARY:
Performs legal assignments related to system contracts in close collaboration with the Associate General Counsel - Contracting. Works with a high degree of autonomy, manages complex legal projects, analyzes information, drafts documents, and manages the negotiation, renewal, termination, implementation, and maintenance processes for system contracts. Provides contract review, interpretation, and explanation of contractual language and legal policies. Uses discretion and independent judgment through contract identification and analysis, contract review, negotiation support, database storage/retrieval and contract monitoring. Provides contract analysis support and makes independent, sound decisions on contracting matters.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in contract drafting, review, negotiation, including working knowledge of applicable contract laws required. 8-10 years experience preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Bachelor’s Degree in health care administration, information management, business administration, finance, or related field preferred. Relevant certifications with a contract focus or concentration will be considered.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Strong analytical skills and effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to proactively interact with all levels of staff and/or others while achieving positive outcomes required. Ability to work both closely with a team and independently and to exercise flexibility and be a self-starter required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel required. Experience with contract lifecycle management software preferred.
