Express Recruitment are proud to be working with one of the UK’s leading independent sub-contractors who are currently experienced an exciting period of rapid growth, due a fully loaded order book running to at least 2027. They are seeking the addition of a Structural Engineer with specialist knowledge of steel structures to head up a maintenance project based in Doncaster.
The successful candidate will be contracted to 40-hours per week running Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to travel to Doncaster and surrounding areas.
In return, our client is paying a pro rota salary of up to £55,000 per annum.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility preferred
• Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience, with a specialist knowledge of steel structures and concrete maintenance projects
• Knowledge of structural, concrete repair methods such as resin injection repair and waterproofing preferred
• Demonstrable working knowledge with structural analysis software
• In depth understanding of relevant codes and standards
• Experience with field assessments, condition surveys, and forensic investigations
• Excellent time management and organisational skills, capable of strategically managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills on all levels

• Perform structural assessments and inspections of existing steel structures
• Develop detailed repair, retrofit, and maintenance designs in accordance with relevant codes and standards
• Prepare detailed technical reports, repair specifications, and construction drawings
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including maintenance, fabrication, and construction personnel
• Support project management activities such as scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and progress tracking
• Provide technical support during the execution of maintenance and repair works
• Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and ensure compliance with project specifications
• Maintain up to date knowledge with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes related to steel structures and maintenance best practices
