Description

Support Vestas Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, including servers, fiber optics, ethernet communications, routers, and switches. The SCADA Technician provides primary support for installation and maintenance of SCADA systems and support to SCADA staff and customers. Technicians field complex questions and inquiries for areas of SCADA performance, behavior and capability.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years or equivalent experience in installation and maintenance of servers, networks and PLC’s. HP Proliant experience a plus.
  • Has working knowledge within Microsoft OS, Server and SQL including administrative functionalities.
  • Innate knowledge of computer system components and operation (routing, Switching and Microsoft operating systems) as used in SCADA environment.
  • Cisco experience a plus.
  • Ability to work with key internal and external customers daily, manage expectations and influence customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to answer complex technical questions, with some preparation, in a way that technical as well as non-technical audience can understand concepts
Responsibilities
  • Act as the Daily SCADA focal point for the given sites receiving and actioning tasks from the AME plant team via the SCADA ticketing system.
  • Support the SCADA staff with technical matters related to the SCADA systems, including responding to complex customer and vendor inquiries, troubleshooting efforts/projects and root-cause analysis.
  • Provide training and direction to techs and site managers in the region on specific SCADA and reporting topics
  • Provide local and remote support for SCADA equipment life cycle replacements
  • Investigate and address problems with Turbine communications with the SCADA systems
  • Support sites and SCADA staff in maintaining communication network to support SCADA operations.
  • Implement changes to the daily operations of site hardware and software for SCADA systems
  • Provide on call support for SCADA issues
  • Track KPIs, create performance reports and present to customers on a periodic basis
  • Create Root Cause Analysis reports to be provided to customer for recurrent/high-severity problems
  • Other related tasks as directed
