Zachary Piper Solutions is hiring a Contracts Support Specialist to assist the U.S. Space Force (USSF) in advancing and implementing warfighter technologies within the Battle Management Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence division of the Program Executive Office, based in Colorado Springs, CO.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE CONTRACTS SUPPORT SPECIALIST INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with 10+ years of experience in the following areas:
  • Federal contracting regulations and procurement procedures, including deep familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and Other Transaction Authority (OTA) frameworks.
  • Department of Defense acquisition processes, specifically the Major Capability Acquisition System and the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS).
  • Proven expertise in federal acquisition strategies, including experience with Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) methods for sourcing innovative, commercially available technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with software procurement in commercial environments, including knowledge of industry-standard practices and policies.
  • Strong understanding of contractual solicitation and negotiation processes, especially within defense and space-related programs.
Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic guidance to Program Managers and senior Space Force officials on acquisition planning, contracting processes, budgeting, and execution, including drafting key documentation such as ESIS, ASD, J&A, and Source Selection Strategies.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop statements of work (SOW), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), and incentive plans for both pre-award and post-award contracting activities.
  • Contribute to contract negotiations, evaluate price reasonableness, and support contract administration tasks including modifications, funding actions, and performance period extensions.
  • Develop and coordinate program planning and execution documents in alignment with DoDI 5000.02 and relevant DoD, Air Force, and Space Systems Command policies.
  • Track and assess contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract terms, timely delivery of required outputs, and progress toward mission objectives.
