We’re seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Contract Teacher/Tutor to join our dynamic educational environment in Squamish, British Columbia. The Role: As a Contract Teacher/Tutor, you’ll be responsible for guiding small groups of students (approximately 10 students per class) aged 9-16. Your primary focus will be to provide comprehensive support across various subjects, helping students deepen their understanding, develop strong study habits, and achieve their academic goals, all within the framework of the NIDES curriculum. This role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys a collaborative and interactive teaching style.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven experience working with students aged 9 to 16 in a teaching or tutoring capacity.
• Strong multi-disciplinary knowledge and the ability to teach across various core subjects.
• Familiarity with or a strong willingness to quickly learn and effectively implement the NIDES curriculum.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate young learners.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• A patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to education.
• Ability to work effectively with small groups, fostering individual attention within a collaborative setting.

• Deliver engaging and effective instruction to small groups of students (ages 9-16) across multiple subjects (e.g., Math, English, Science, Social Studies) as outlined by the NIDES curriculum.
• Tailor teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of individual students within the group, complementing the NIDES program.
• Foster a positive, supportive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and identify areas for improvement within the NIDES learning path.
• Collaborate with students to develop effective study strategies and organizational skills.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with students, and potentially parents/guardians, regarding progress and academic needs.
• Utilize and adapt to the specific curriculum content and resources provided by NIDES.
• Work collaboratively, leveraging the support provided by the School District for local teachers/tutors.
