We’re seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Contract Teacher/Tutor to join our dynamic educational environment in Squamish, British Columbia. This is a unique chance to work with a truly exceptional group of focused and dedicated students, fostering their academic growth across multiple disciplines using the NIDES (North Island Distance Education School) curriculum.
Position Type: Contract, Part-Time (Half-Day Employment)

We utilize the NIDES curriculum, and as a local teacher/tutor, you’ll benefit from support provided by the School District.
The Role: As a Contract Teacher/Tutor, you’ll be responsible for guiding small groups of students (approximately 10 students per class) aged 9-16. Your primary focus will be to provide comprehensive support across various subjects, helping students deepen their understanding, develop strong study habits, and achieve their academic goals, all within the framework of the NIDES curriculum. This role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys a collaborative and interactive teaching style.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience working with students aged 9 to 16 in a teaching or tutoring capacity.
  • Strong multi-disciplinary knowledge and the ability to teach across various core subjects.
  • Familiarity with or a strong willingness to quickly learn and effectively implement the NIDES curriculum.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate young learners.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • A patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to education.
  • Ability to work effectively with small groups, fostering individual attention within a collaborative setting.

Responsibilities
