Job Title: Contracts Manager
Location: Rochester – onsite
Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing guidance to and supporting the development of individuals in more junior roles
  • Providing guidance to the business on commercial issues and internal governance throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Collaborating with the project team, proactively engaging with other functions to enhance the commercial solution
  • Playing a major role in winning new business and managing projects, drafting and negotiating moderately complex proposals, terms & conditions, agreements and changes
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities, devising appropriate mitigations including seeking, presenting and obtaining relevant approvals
  • Working as part of a team or independently with little supervision and guidance and using your own experience, judgement and initiative
  • UK/overseas travel as required

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Contracts experience across various types of contracts and agreements (Customer facing)
  • Negotiating and influencing experience
  • Business acumen and financial awareness
  • Experience in building and maintaining strong relationships, both internally and externally
  • Track record of inclusive team skills as both a team leader and team member
  • Degree level qualification in a business-related subject, or equivalent experience

Desirable:

  • Industry experience in aerospace & defence, or similar highly regulated and complex industries such as Rail or Energy

As a Contracts Manager, you will play a key role as a trusted business partner—overseeing customer relationships, leading contract negotiations, crafting innovative solutions, and advising on contractual, legal, regulatory, and governance matters in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
