Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a committed and experienced Contracts Manager with a strong background in fire safety and asbestos compliance to join our Compliance & Estates team.
You’ll play a critical role in ensuring that our homes are safe, compliant, and well-maintained for our residents, in line with statutory requirements and Eastlight’s policies.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a key position overseeing the delivery of contracts relating to fire safety and asbestos management.
You’ll be responsible for managing contractor performance, ensuring high-quality delivery of safety-critical works, and maintaining a customer-first approach.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Leading and managing contracts related to fire safety systems (e.g., alarms, emergency lighting, fire doors) and asbestos surveys, removals, and re-inspections.
  • Monitoring compliance with statutory duties, industry best practice, and internal policies.
  • Managing programmes and budgets effectively, ensuring works are delivered on time, on cost, and to specification.
  • Carrying out robust contract management, including performance reviews, monitoring KPIs, and commercial negotiations.
  • Supporting audit activity, health and safety inspections, and continuous service improvement.

Qualifications relevant to the role would be desirable, such as:

  • NEBOSH certificate in fire safety
  • Asbestos duty to manage and/or P405 Management of Asbestos in buildings
  • Contract management qualification, such as World Commerce & Contractin
