With continual growth and success, we are looking for a full-time Contracts Administrator with experience in defense assisting in the delivery of defense project.
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager (PCM), the Contracts Administrator will be accountable for supporting commercial project delivery across the defense portfolio, partnering with the PCM and Project Managers in developing and delivering on commercial strategies, commercial management of projects, contract reviews and formation and administration of subcontracts.
As the Contracts Administrator you will be a key conduit between the Defense Division and the Legal team, ensuring that Legal and commercial positions are appropriately addressed in accordance with delegations of authority.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Contract Development

  • Ensure scope of work required for contract is approved by CAM
  • Create a scope development and approval process
  • Scope is easily understood and has SMART outputs
  • Clear accountabilities and responsibilities for all stakeholders within the contract framework
  • Periodicity of all outputs and inputs are clearly defined
  • Perform commercial analysis and modelling during tender process to support optimizing our commercial position
  • Create a bid evaluation process (Financial, Technical and Governance)
  • Provide commercial advice to project and bid teams ensuring that key commercial and contractual issues and risk are addressed with in an effective and efficient manner
  • Support contract negotiations and assist in the transition of successful tenders into live projects and ensure that the project stakeholders are aware of the contractual requirements, through development of right and obligation matrices, and oversee them to address contractual compliance. Including but not limited to:
  • Variation triggers and process
  • Time bar triggers
  • Escalation process
  • Key performance indicators
  • Contract value
  • Stakeholder and Communication map
  • Manage administration of all contracts changes of reporting and informational flow perspective
  • Be fully aware of the favorable and unfavorable positions to Birdon via Terms and Conditions within contract
  • Lead negotiations with customers, subcontractors and suppliers relating to contractual issues, teaming arrangements, licensing arrangements and confidentiality agreements to deliver appropriate commercial outcomes
  • In conjunction with the Legal team create new subcontracts (where required) ensuring commercial, contractual and performance risks are managed, and appropriate head-contract flow-downs are in place.
