Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Contracts Support Specialist to support a high-visibility Department of Defense (DoD) program. The Contracts Support Specialist will provide expert-level acquisition and contracting support to senior leadership and program managers within the Space Force and broader defense community. This position will be onsite in Colorado Springs, CO!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE CONTRACTS SUPPORT SPECIALIST INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in federal contracting and procurement.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS)
  • DoD Major Capability Acquisition System
  • Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS)
  • Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Willingness to be nominated for SCI and SAP access and to undergo a polygraph.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional certification (e.g., PMP).
  • Experience in the National Security Space domain.
  • Background supporting U.S. Government weapons system program offices or development environments.
Responsibilities
  • Advise Program Managers and senior leadership on acquisition strategies, budgeting, and execution.
  • Draft and manage key acquisition documentation, including ESIS, ASP, ASD, J&A, and Source Selection Strategies.
  • Support technical teams in developing Statements of Work (SOW), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), and incentive plans.
  • Assist in contract negotiations, price reasonableness determinations, and contract administration.
  • Prepare contract modifications and supporting documentation for funding, award fees, and performance extensions.
  • Develop and coordinate program planning documents in accordance with DoDI 5000.02 and relevant DoD, AF, and Space Systems Command policies.
  • Draft technical evaluations and serve as an advisor during source selections.
  • Monitor contractor performance for compliance and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
