Description

Fugro’s Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs) are revolutionizing the maritime industry—enabling safer, more sustainable operations for subsea inspections, seafloor mapping, and environmental monitoring.
As a Control Engineer, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team developing real-time control solutions that directly impact sectors like energy, infrastructure, and sustainability.

Your Role

  • Develop and test algorithms for real-time control, state management, and data aggregation for steering and monitoring our remote-controlled vessels.
  • Contribute to the design and integration of vessel control systems.
  • Participate in field testing and data collection to validate system performance.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, and electrical engineers to build robust software platforms.
  • Write clean, maintainable code and follow best practices in software development (e.g., version control, code reviews, testing).
  • Support the transition of research concepts into deployable, field-ready systems.

Your Profile

  • Holds a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Has 2–5 years of experience in industrial automation and control software (industry or research).
  • Is proficient in Linux, Docker, MQTT, C++, and/or Python.
  • Has hands-on experience with robotic systems, including sensors (e.g., IMU, GPS) and actuators.
  • Is a strong communicator and team player, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Has exposure to collaborative development and deployment tools and practices (e.g., Git, CI/CD, Docker).
