As a Vice President in Control Management within the GIB franchise, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and uplifting risks and controls across Investment Banking, legal entities, and the EMEA region. You will partner with stakeholders to enhance our control framework, support governance forums, drive remediation efforts and deliver process enhancements. You will use your analytical skills to deliver executive-ready insights and foster a culture of accountability and growth. Job responsibilities * Execute risk and control identification, assessment, and uplift for the GIB business. * Review, challenge, and test control design and effectiveness, using metrics and KRIs to prioritize remediation. * Maintain risk and control inventories and CORE artifacts, ensuring documentation quality and consistency. * Support regional governance forums by setting agendas, tracking actions, and ensuring timely follow-up. * Produce executive-ready materials with clear analysis of risk themes, trends, and emerging issues. * Oversee the issues lifecycle, including root cause analysis, remediation plans, sustainable control design, and closure. * Support new product, market, and regulatory change by embedding effective preventive and detective controls. * Coordinate with specialist teams such as Compliance, Operational Risk, Cybersecurity, and Fraud to ensure comprehensive coverage. * Coach and guide associates and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills * Experience in investment or corporate banking control, risk, CAO/COO, or operations roles. * Strong knowledge of banking products and front-to-back processes, including Advisory, ECM/DCM, and Lending. * Proven experience supporting governance forums and legal-entity or regional oversight. * Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint, with strong data analysis and storytelling abilities for senior audiences. * Excellent communication and influencing skills, with effective cross-line-of-business stakeholder management. * Strong project and change management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. * Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical, scalable control solutions. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills * Familiarity with CORE and global regulatory expectations. * Experience with analytics and automation tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, or Python; exposure to AI/ML for risk detection is a plus. * Business analysis, data mining, and quantitative reporting experience. * Team leadership or mentoring experience; relevant certifications or an advanced degree. Responsibilities
