Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to all plant employees in safely operating equipment used in the pellet production process.
  • Monitoring and Adjustment: Oversee and adjust in-feed mixes and direct Loader Operators according to fibre type and moisture content. Ensure the efficient operation of various plant parameters including moisture levels, Pelletier temperatures, in-feed speed, bulk densities, dryer temperatures, scrubber operations, and motor amps.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with all employees and manage Drax’s HMI systems to ensure maximum production. Collaborate with the Automation Team and communicate with cross-shift Operators to ensure seamless transitions and operational continuity.
  • Coordination: Manage and communicate fibre needs, coordinating with Loader Operators and Production Team Leads to maintain sufficient fibre supply for continuous production.
  • Housekeeping: Ensure the plant remains clean and free of excessive dust accumulation by directing Utility staff and addressing housekeeping needs. Oversee daily cleanup activities to maintain safety and operational standards.
  • Quality Control: Conduct moisture content testing and complete necessary reports. Ensure pellets meet desired moisture and bulk density standards. Direct and communicate with employees on shift regarding fibre mixes and rail car loading.
