QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and training.
  • Strong knowledge of motor control systems, power distribution, and PLC logic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with starters, MCPs, drives, and motor control centers.
  • Familiarity with <600VAC 3-phase, 120VAC, 24VDC systems.
  • Understanding of software integration and hardware testing.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Controls Engineer to design and review engineered systems across a variety of industrial applications. This role involves working closely with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure technical specifications are met and systems are delivered with precision and quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review customer specifications and ensure engineering requirements are met.
  • Design and document large-scale control systems for fabrication and installation.
  • Prepare schematics, hardware layouts, and submittals for approval.
  • Perform power distribution calculations and functional testing of hardware.
  • Troubleshoot system errors and recommend effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with vendors to secure competitive product quotes.
  • Provide technical support to project managers and installation teams.
  • Conduct inspections during fabrication, construction, and installation phases.
  • Interpret engineering standards and regulations (e.g., UL, NEC).
  • Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for value-added services.
  • Travel across the continental US as needed.
