Job Description We are looking for Control Systems Engineer to join a European Machine Systems group responsible for the development of machine control systems across all machines designed in Europe. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering modern control system technologies, working on projects that move from early definition through to production. Location: Peterborough On Site: Yes Clearance: None Experience Level: Mid- Level Key Responsibilities: Define and develop control system architectures, including I/O allocation, controller layouts, and supporting electrical schematics. Work with wider engineering teams to establish interface requirements between electronic controllers, sensors, and machine subsystems. Contribute to risk assessments and design reviews, including FMEA activities, functional safety considerations, and compliance checks. Plan and carry out validation work to confirm system performance and readiness for release. Support development builds and production introduction by investigating faults, identifying root causes, and driving practical solutions. Qualifications Required Skills: Solid experience in developing and delivering electronic control systems and software within complex products or machinery. Good working knowledge of CAN-based networks and Ethernet communication in a control systems environment. Experience using calibration and analysis tools such as CANape, CANalyzer, or CANoe. Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience. Desirable Skills: Experience supporting products through multiple development stages, from concept to production. Comfortable working in cross-functional teams across systems, software, and manufacturing. Additional Information Why join us?
