Description:
We are looking for a diligent, hands on Control Systems Engineer with a good understanding of SCADA and PLC control systems to join our team.
- Work as part of a project team delivering control system projects
- Assist the Project Manager / Senior Engineer in developing and formulating the Functional Design Specifications and other key design documentation to meet project requirements
- Working within the project time scales, independently formulate and develop the software to meet the functional requirements
- Working within the project time scales, independently develop test procedures and carry out functional testing of the assembled system
- As required, carry out on-site commissioning of the assembled system typically this is within the UK but there is potential to partake in project work both offshore and abroad
- As required, work flexible hours to meet project targets
- As required, partake in out of hours customer telephone support
- As required, attend client meetings to discuss project requirements
- As required, assist in preparation of sales proposals
Skills
- Proven experience in developing PLC software for range of major manufacturers e.g. Rockwell, GE, Siemens and Triconex
- Proven experience in developing SCADA software for a range of major manufacturers e.g. AVEVA System Platform, Siemens WinCC, Rockwell FactoryTalk, GE iFix & Cimplicity
- Proven experience of Hardware Design and documentation.
- Good Knowledge of Communications protocols and experience of implementation and fault finding including Network topologies and configurations.
- Proven ability to fault find hardware and software across a range of platforms.
- Ability to work independently and achieve objectives within the project timescales
- Ability to analyse user requirements and formulate a solution
- Ability to create technical specifications and test plans
- Possess strong IT skills with particular emphasis on Microsoft Office and being able to produce written documents of a good standard
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
- Can manage time and organise workload to meet deadlines
- Demonstrate high accuracy and attention to detail
- Possess a passport and a UK driving licence
Skills - Desired
- Ideally have proven experience of working with Information Management Systems
- Ideally have excellent knowledge of server build constraints and requirements, and possess the ability to specify and configure server / IT hardware to meet a range of requirements.
- Ideally have proven experience of working in the control and automation projects across several industries.
- Experience of Functional Safety and/or Machinery Safety developing systems in accordance with IEC 61508 / 61511 / 62061.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
- Educated to Graduate level
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in process control / safety / automation systems / applications.

Pay: £38,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
