EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in embedded controls development.
  • Minimum 1 year of engineering experience in Off-Highway, Automotive, or Commercial vehicle industry.
  • Ability to travel worldwide as needed to meet the demands of assigned programs.
  • Experience in SW modelling tools (MATLAB, Simulink), ‘C’ programming language and Automatic Code Generation tools (Target Link).
  • Experience using Requirements Management tools such as Polarion or DOORS.
  • Experience with Configuration Management tools such as Subversion, SVN, Git, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive knowledge of in-vehicle communications architectures and protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, J1939, UDS, KWP2000, etc.).
  • Experience with vehicle calibration using a tool such as ETAS INCA, or dSPACE ControlDesk.
  • Experience with network design and analysis tools such as Vector CANalyzer, CANoe.
  • Experience in a strong cross-functional team environment.
Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

This Control Systems Engineer creates vehicle control system designs and specifications across Construction Equipment product lines. As a System Engineer, you will be the principal interface between Vehicle Electronics team and cross functional teams to coordinate the development and implementation of vehicle control functions utilizing a Systems Engineering approach. The successful candidate will also be responsible for creating and maintaining the related Technical Specifications for assigned products, in accordance with Platform, Safety and Homologation requirements. He will also promote standardization across products, by exploiting existing best practices and solutions; he will participate in abstraction and generalization of implemented solutions, improving the re-usability across products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In this role, the Control Systems Engineer will,
  • Design control strategies and algorithms for complex systems (Electrohydraulic, Driveline, Vehicle)
  • Manage the interaction between complex subsystems and their related calibrations, to ensure system performance and robustness is optimized
  • Develop requirements and associated system architecture, system designs, test cases, and acceptance criteria
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, and diagrams to support problem analysis
  • Perform system testing the software and support vehicle integration testing and related problem solving
  • Collaborate with Product Platforms, Product Validation, Design Verification, Central Areas (EH, Driveline, Cab, Engine, SFB, Network and Diagnostics, Service Tool) during all program development phases
  • Work with the Functional Safety Engineer to fulfill the necessary Functional Safety requirements
  • Support the Project Manager(s) with System Engineering estimates and resource planning
  • Be an active member of Design review, DFMEA, Risk assessment and other technical meetings
  • Develop future roadmaps maximizing design commonality for Vehicle Controller across all product lines
  • Encourage new and innovative design concepts, inventions, patents, and opportunities for product improvement
  • Remain current on engineering and construction and/or agricultural technological developments and evolving field practices through field contacts/visits, attending meetings and membership in technical societies
  • Demonstrate support for company culture in their daily actions
  • Travel is less than 10%
