CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEER JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Control Systems Engineer will spearhead the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of control systems for industrial applications, such as heat tracing, pump control, and valve automation. This senior-level role involves managing complex projects, mentoring a team of engineers, and ensuring technical solutions align with client needs and industry standards.

CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEER POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • At least 10 years of experience in industrial control systems engineering.
  • Expertise with PLCs, DCSs, SCADA systems, heat trace controls, and industrial networks.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as ladder logic and function block.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson, and Thermon.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of control systems for applications like heat tracing, pump control, and valve automation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers on the controls team.
  • Develop system architectures, functional specifications, and detailed designs for control and heat trace systems.
  • Program and configure PLCs, DCSs, SCADA systems, and HMIs to meet project specifications.
  • Design control panels and specify appropriate instrumentation and hardware.
  • Conduct field assessments to gather requirements and develop control system solutions.
  • Perform simulations, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and commissioning of systems.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing systems to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Oversee project management tasks, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and maintain effective client communication throughout project lifecycles.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in control systems engineering.
