Description

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 2–10 years of relevant experience; OR
  • Master’s degree with relevant experience; OR
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5–15 years’ experience in embedded safety-critical systems engineering
  • Experience designing safety-critical control systems
  • Familiarity with model-based design tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeller, MATLAB Simulink)
  • Experience with military and/or FAA certification of airborne systems
  • Proficient in integration, testing, and system lifecycle processes (requirements, design, verification, and release)
  • Knowledge of gas turbine engine control systems
  • Experience with ADA, Python, C, or C++
  • Familiarity with CI/CD frameworks such as Jenkins

Responsibilities
  • Develop safety-critical gas turbine engine control systems in accordance with ARP4754A, military standards, and other compliance objectives.
  • Elicit and define customer and system-level requirements, ensuring complete and validated traceability.
  • Decompose system requirements into component-level requirements for electronics, software, and hardware.
  • Perform verification (test) of implemented systems, including hardware-software integration and system-level testing across simulation and flight test environments.
  • Generate lifecycle documentation to support compliance and airworthiness.
  • Support continuous improvement of processes to achieve compliance objectives and optimize development pace.
  • Configure and use CI/CD frameworks to enable iterative development and testing of control systems.
  • Interface with airworthiness certification authorities to present compliance data and support audits.
