TIAG is now hiring a Control Systems Engineer with expertise in inner workings of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Hospital Automated Courier Systems (HACS), and other operational technology systems across National Institute of Health (NIH) facilities. You will support our customer with system engineering, maintenance and programming.
This position is based in Bethesda, MD and is primarily on-site requiring an active DoD Secret clearance to be considered.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Knowledgeable across multiple BAS, ICS, and SCADA applications and familiar with principles of control system design and instrument engineering
- Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems, including troubleshooting complex OT system issues for detection and correction of operational problems
- Support BAS systems including Johnson Controls Metasys and Siemens Desigo/Apogee platforms by coordinating and/or performing additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems, and attached devices including investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new hardware and software
- Analyze and maintain HVAC control systems, pneumatic tube systems, and track transport systems
- Perform lifecycle planning and modernization assessments
- Interface with vendors to articulate system requirements and reporting findings to the customer
- Develop technical documentation and system architecture diagrams
- Support capital investment fund (CIF) development and procurement processes
- Coordinate with facilities maintenance staff for operational impact
- Provide system information to cybersecurity team members and assist with cyber activities
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 6+ years experience with industrial control systems and/or building automation
- Expertise in Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls, and Siemens platforms is a plus
- Ability to read and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), control narratives, and other engineering documents
- Windows Servers, Active Directory (AD), and DISA Security Technical Information Guidance (STIG) experience is a plus
- Ability to work both independently and in team environments
- Experience with HVAC control systems and pneumatic transport is a plus
- Active DoD Secret clearance required
- CompTIA Security+ certification
- Strong work ethic and a proven professional - respectful, dependable, takes initiative and follows through
