QUALIFICATIONS ET EXPÉRIENCE:

  • Baccalauréat en finance, comptabilité ou dans un domaine connexe ;
  • Atout : Titre de CPA (ou en cours d’obtention) ;
  • Plus de 4 ans d’expérience progressive en comptabilité, y compris certaines responsabilités de supervision ;
  • Excellente compréhension des NCECF (normes comptables pour les entreprises à capital fermé) et des exigences de conformité fiscale canadienne ;
  • Expérience démontrée dans la gestion des processus de clôture mensuelle et de fin d’exercice ;
  • Solides compétences en matière d’analyse, de résolution de problèmes et d’organisation, avec un grand souci du détail ;
  • Excellentes aptitudes à la communication et capacité à collaborer avec d’autres équipes ;
  • Maîtrise des logiciels de comptabilité (l’expérience de NetSuite est un atout) et compétences avancées en Excel ;

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field;
  • Preferred: CPA designation (or in advanced stages of completion).
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including some supervisory responsibilities.
  • Solid understanding of ASPE and Canadian tax compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience managing month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite experience is an asset) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our Finance & Accounting team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support the Controller in managing and improving financial processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive finance professional to grow in a leadership role within a dynamic, high-growth environment.

  • Oversee and streamline accounting operations by recommending and implementing new processes, and assist to ensure team is meeting deadlines;
  • Oversee month-end close; including completion of specific analyses & reconciliations;
  • Conduct monthly revision of balance sheet accounts to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance;
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements;
  • Strengthen and ensure consistent implementation of corporate accounting principles and procedures in full compliance with ASPE;
  • Train and mentor accounting staff, fostering skill development and promoting a collaborative team environment;
  • Prepare monthly GST-QST remittances; ensure compliance with sales tax requirements and reporting;
  • Fulfil requests from management and assist with CRA reviews and audits;
  • Correspondence with other various government agencies;
  • Drive process improvements and assist with system enhancements to increase automation, accuracy, and scalability;
  • Complete other ad-hoc requests and projects and provide coverage in Controller’s absence.
