Description We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-obsessed Controller to lead accounting operations across three high-growth, high-energy brands: Legacy Franchise Concepts (LFC), SWTHZ (Sweathouz), and Dogtopia. This role owns the integrity of our financial operations from general ledger to audits. You’ll ensure the books are clean, bills are paid, reimbursements run smoothly, and processes scale as we grow. This is not a sit-back-and-review kind of Controller role. It’s roll-up-your-sleeves leadership that blends precision, process improvement, and cross-functional partnership. Requirements What You’ll Do Accounting Operations Oversee the general ledger and ensure timely, accurate month-end close across multiple entities Ensure proper account coding, classifications, and reconciliations Maintain financial records in compliance with GAAP Accounts Payable Lead the AP function, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and vendor payments Strengthen and maintain vendor relationships Oversee workflows, approvals, and policy compliance across brands Accounts Receivable Supervise invoicing, collections, and reconciliations Monitor aging reports and escalate overdue accounts as needed Implement process improvements to accelerate collection cycles Employee Expense Management Oversee employee reimbursements, ensuring timely payouts and policy adherence Provide tools and guidance to managers and team members Improve expense submission and approval workflow Team Leadership Directly manage a team of three (3) Coach, develop, and support performance and cross-functional collaboration Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and documentation Audit & Compliance Lead preparation for annual financial audits Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements and internal control Oversee timely filing of tax and regulatory reports Process Optimization & Systems Evaluate and refine accounting processes for scalability and efficiency Manage accounting systems and tools to support team success What You Bring Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required CPA or Master’s in Accounting preferred 8+ years of progressive accounting experience 3+ years in a Controller or equivalent leadership role Experience managing multi-entity accounting operations strongly preferred Skills & Competencies Deep knowledge of GAAP and audit readiness Proven leadership across AP, AR, and expense management functions Expertise in accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills Systems thinker with a continuous improvement mindset Clear communicator who builds trust across departments Calm, decisive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment
