The Controller, Accounting Services, is responsible for leading and managing the financial aspects of our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) activities, with a strong focus on post-acquisition integration. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial operations, M&A processes, and integration strategies to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and achieve successful business combinations. This role will apply accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures to close the financial period and support audits of such information. The Controller, Accounting Services provides analytics to internal cross functional business partners for the purpose of enhancing business processes and performance. This position collaborates with management and analyzes internal processes, and other data sources to assess trends, and develop actionable insights.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with a strong focus on M&A and integration.
  • Proven track record in leading financial due diligence, valuation, and post-acquisition integration efforts.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with complex organizational structures.
  • Intermediate ERP Systems experience preferred.
  • Execute responsibilities with a sense of urgency and follow-through.
  • Demonstrated abilities to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy.

ADA REQUIREMENTS:

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Support the financial evaluation and due diligence processes for potential acquisitions, including financial modeling, valuation, and risk assessments.
  • Partner with senior leadership to analyze strategic acquisition opportunities and provide recommendations on financial viability.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports and presentations for stakeholders, including executives, boards, and investors.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial integration plans for acquired entities, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Streamline accounting, reporting, and internal control processes between the company and newly acquired entities.
  • Lead integration efforts to align financial systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial information for post-acquisition entities and assist in the preparation of related financial statement disclosures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Ensure SOX compliance related to purchase price accounting.
  • Monitor financial performance of acquired businesses and report on key metrics and variances.
  • Work cross-functionally with operational, legal, HR, and IT teams to facilitate successful M&A integrations.
  • Serve as the primary financial point of contact for M&A projects and post-deal integrations.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes of integration efforts to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness in M&A financial processes.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting M&A and financial integration.
  • Actively participate in initiatives and special projects as required by management.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
