Controller - Atlanta Who: A growing small business in Atlanta in need of its first formal Controller. What: Oversee month-end close, financial reporting, and strategic planning. Position Overview: We’re helping a fast-growing company in Atlanta hire a Controller to bring discipline, structure, and strategic financial insight to its accounting function. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a high-impact role where you’ll implement processes and provide financial leadership across operations, growth planning, and deal evaluation. Key Responsibilities: Own the month-end close process and preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements Conduct variance analysis and deliver actionable financial insights Partner with leadership on strategic planning and cash flow forecasting Perform tenant credit and deal analysis for future contracts and partnerships Lead contract reviews and assess financing opportunities Transition the current bookkeeping-heavy setup into a robust finance department Collaborate with external accountants, auditors, and bankers as needed Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; 6+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in a small to midsize business Deep experience with QuickBooks and transitioning to more scalable financial systems Proven ability to build out reporting and planning functions from the ground up Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with ownership and investors
