Description The Opportunity The Controller at COPA will lead, build, and make a lasting impact within an organization that has been caring for children and families in Central Oregon for over 50 years. This role owns day-to-day accounting operations and brings the opportunity to build structure, strengthen systems, and drive smart financial decisions in a mission-driven pediatric clinic. The Controller works closely with the Director of Finance and plays a key role in shaping a function that is accurate, scalable, and ready for growth. The Job Schedule: Full-time Compensation: Salaried position Location: Central Oregon | Hybrid schedule (onsite + remote) · Manages and oversees the day-to-day accounting functions, including, but not limited to, invoice processing, billing, cash receipts, and receivable collections · Reviews vendor contracts and provides ad hoc spend analysis as needed · Assists in the annual budgeting process and supplemental budget to actual reporting · Assists with the accurate and timely preparation of month-end and monthly reporting · Supports the Facilities Manager in compiling expense reporting on capex projects as needed · Supports clinical inventory counts and annual internal inventory audit · Establish a robust permanent filing system for vendor contracts · Oversee, monitor and suggest improvements to accounting procedures, internal controls, and database management · Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and research as required · Assist with quarterly and year-end financial activities · Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness · Perform ad hoc analysis and participate in accounting projects as requested · Monitor and produce timely reports for any action(s) needed to maintain payroll compliance Benefits · 401k and Profit sharing · HSA, HRA and FSA Enrollment · Medical, Life, Vision and Dental Insurance · Supplemental insurance Options · Pediatric Care Benefits · Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Requirements Education and Certification: · Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required; CPA or CMA preferred. · Valid Oregon Driver’s License. Experience and Qualifications: · Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience required and healthcare accounting experience preferred. · Sound financial skills and experience in financial reporting, cash flow management, internal controls and audit procedures needed. · Excellent computer skills. Proficient in QuickBooks, Windows OS, MS Office Suite, and high-level user in Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas. · Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. · QuickBooks or Sage experience preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. · Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus. Physical Requirements: · Use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level in person, over the telephone or through use of other required technology. Sitting or standing for long periods of time. Frequent repetitive motion includes computer keyboard use, reaching with hands and arms, and walking. Occasional lifting and or moving up to 30 pounds and on rare occasion up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include viewing computer monitor for long periods of time, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Working Conditions: · Position is located local-remote to include periodic on-site meetings and shifts in COPA clinics, business office or community partners. · Eligible for combination of on-site and home office. · The employee is subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to mechanical parts and chemicals including odors. The employee has been identified as having the likelihood of occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials, therefore are included in the OSHA Exposure Control Plan with specification for preventing contact with the above materials. · Travel between COPA clinics, business office and community partners as required.
