Description General Position Description: Supports the financial strategy for EBF for the support of the mission, vision, and the Finance Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supports CFO in developing and implementing a cohesive financial strategy to support the mission, vision, and C-Team Leadership. Responsible for building detailed mathematical models to forecast future business performance, revenue, and expenses. Monitors and manages the processing of all medical revenue from EHR System to ERP system. Assists CFO in the preparation of budgets and financial statements. Builds and maintains financial statement structures in management designer system. Assists CFO in generating specialized financial reports required by grantors and funding agencies. Responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining stringent control policies and procedures necessary to control cash, payroll, and payables. Establishes and monitors internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and EBF policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards, including but not limited to the GCPG and the HHS Inspector General’s Office’s regulations, particularly in relation to government grants, contracts, and funding agreements. Collaborates with the CFO to develop and implement financial strategies that support EBF’s mission and goals. Prepares monthly Finance Committee and Board of Director reports. Works with CFO to complete annual audits of company financials. Manages the preparation of the annual reporting of regulatory and third-party payor requirements and ensures they are prepared accurately and submitted on a timely basis. Provides a broad range of administrative and supervisory functions. Supervises assigned staff in accordance with EBF personnel practices, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and day to day scheduling. Participates in the process of ongoing professional development. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts within the agency, members, and external agencies. Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with EBF Code of Conduct, Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field with 10 years of accounting/finance experience with 3 years of not-for-profit experience required. CPA and/or CMA preferred. Master’s degree in Accounting with over 10 years of Controller experience preferred. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Regulatory Must be at least 21 years of age. Current, unrestricted AZ driver’s license with no more than two (2) minor moving violations or one (1) accident within the past three (3 years). Three (3) years of driving experience required. Transportation for daily visits, to attend trainings, and perform other work-related activities. Organizational vehicles may not be available at all times. Must be able to pass a criminal background check prior to employment and regular checks for the duration of the employment. Ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card (employer provides). Skills/Job Knowledge/Abilities: Proficient knowledge of accounting, finance, and payroll policies, practices, and procedures. Ability to accurately compile, calculate, and translate accounting data. Must have excellent professional, GAAP, FASB, and GCPG knowledge of current accounting policies and procedures. Must have management experience, quality management performance, and motivation skills. Must provide strong leadership and a clear vision of goals and objectives. Able to provide constructive feedback, mentorship, and training to encourage and retain employees. Able to provide recognition and praise to the accounting team as appropriate, along with positive corrective educational actions when needed. Able to establish and maintain a team atmosphere of communication and collaboration for all. Must have tactical and strategic planning experience focused on optimizing the accounting process while being innovative and forward thinking. Must be an effective decision maker and problem solver.
