Our client, a dynamic, PE-backed company in Cambridge—is searching for a hands-on, forward-thinking Controller to join their leadership team. With plans to more than double revenue, this is a pivotal time to join a business poised for major growth.
You’ll work directly with the CEO, lead financial operations, and help build out the finance team as the company grows. If you’re excited by automation, AI tools, and the chance to evolve into a Director of Finance, this is the opportunity for you!

What You’ll Do

  • Own the full cycle of financial reporting, including monthly and quarterly interim statements.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team (currently one direct report), with plans to expand.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including coordination with external accountants.
  • Ensure compliance with HST, payroll taxes, WSIB, and other regulatory filings.
  • Partner with the CEO on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial modelling.
  • Drive process improvements and explore automation opportunities using AI and other tools.
  • Support system upgrades and enhancements

What You’ll Bring

  • A CPA designation
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a small to mid-sized business.
  • A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • An interest in leveraging AI to improve financial processes.

What’s in It for You

  • Strategic growth path: This newly created role is designed to evolve into a Director of Finance position.
  • Direct impact: Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to shape the company’s financial future.
  • Competitive compensation: Including a bons opportunity
  • Generous benefits: Full company-paid benefits and RSP matching.
  • Flexibility: In-office role in Cambridge with occasional work-from-home flexibility.
