POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Director of Finance to join our dynamic team located in Saint John, New Brunswick [Canada]. This role is integral to our financial operations and will oversee accounting, payroll, cash management, budgeting, and compliance functions. The Finance Partner will work closely with various departments to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and strategic financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting & Payroll: Manage the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and monthly end support ie. account reconciliations.
- Reporting & Analysis: Oversee daily cash, bookings, and shipping reports. Prepare and analyze monthly close reports and sales reporting against budgets and forecasts.
- Cash Management: Conduct daily cash forecasting, approve bank deposits, manage biweekly supplier payments, and execute foreign exchange trades.
- HR & Compliance Support: Review and approve biweekly payroll, manage employee benefits, workers’ compensation, and T4 filings.
- Inventory & Operations: Experience in Inventory management and manufacturing
- Audit & Tax Compliance: Support external audits, manage corporate tax and SR&ED returns, and ensure accurate tax filings, including monthly HST returns and annual submissions.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and present the Annual Operating Plan and revise forecasts as needed.
- Insurance & Reporting: Manage insurance related matters and Statistics Canada filings.
- System Support: Provide support to ERP system.
Qualifications:
- CPA designation (required).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting systems, with experience in Syspro being an asset.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
