Description

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller is a key member of the finance leadership team and is responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting functions for the Colleges supported by the Franciscan Services. This includes providing timely and accurate monthly financial reporting, overseeing the preparation and facilitation of the annual external audit and reconciliation, and managing several finance-related operations such as insurance, accounts payable, banking, investment tracking, and budget oversight. The Controller plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial data, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulatory standards, and safeguarding College assets through robust internal controls. This position will require regular travel to campuses.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • CPA required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in a higher education or non-profit setting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, fund accounting, and federal financial aid regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial audits and developing internal controls.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with financial reporting systems preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead a team effectively and foster a collaborative work environment.
    Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 salary range
    This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and organizational needs
