The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Controller to assist the Vice-President Corporate Accounting & Compliance with financial and tax compliance, reporting, review, and analysis for the US company.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the financial accounting cycle including the month-end and year end close process.
  • Preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, IFRS and with corporate accounting policies and standards
  • Reconciling and managing various general ledger accounts
  • Perform the analysis of results and explain variances.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professional development
  • Coordinate year–end audit file preparation for each audited entity and ensure that an appropriate audit file is prepared
  • Liaise with the internal and external auditors on audit issues
  • Ensure proper accruals and accounting for rebate, warranty and commissions
  • Reconcile, balance and record periodic payroll transactions
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and transactions
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Review and approve payments to vendors in various forms (cheques, wires, ach, credit card, vpayment)
  • Resolve banking issues and payment exceptions
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity
  • Address punctual requests from the management team
