KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE TO:

  • Lead and develop the corporate accounting team and/or provide support to business unit finance by overseeing day-to-day responsibilities while promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Prepare, review, and update corporate financial statements for all business units, including journal entries, trial balance reconciliation, and cost analysis.
  • Review and oversee key accounts and expenditures to ensure accurate reconciliations, resolve disputes, evaluate pricing, and assess profitability.
  • Manage financial reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, rail cost review, and journal entry approvals, working closely with the VP of Finance and other Finance Managers/business unit financials.
  • Analyze financial and operating results as part of the Kleysen leadership team.
  • Attain or have a CPA designation or be in the process of attaining this designation.
  • Contribute to the business with a strong business acumen with a forward-thinking approach to contribute to both short and long-term goals.
  • Communicate and foster relationships, influence and negotiate solutions.
    The successful candidate will require a reliable vehicle as our office is located outside of public transport.
Responsibilities

The Controller is accountable for managing financial reporting, accounting, monitoring, and internal controls to fulfill Kleysen’s financial and stakeholder obligations. This role reports directly to the Vice-President of Finance. In addition, the Controller is expected to identify opportunities to improve existing processes and implement strategies that drive efficiency within the department and across the broader organization. This leadership role also involves mentoring the company’s accounting team and providing support to all Business Units.
